Board Member
Karen Stearne has been a resident of Niagara since 1979 and has served as the Executive Director of Heart Niagara since 1997. In the years since, Karen has emerged as one of Niagara's earliest recognized adopters of social enterprise, community-centered health education, and social development. In addition to being an award-winning, respected and integral member of Niagara's community, Karen has also contributed greatly to research efforts across a variety of subjects; publishing and helping to publish research papers in world-renowned journals like the Canadian Medical Association Journal, BMJ Journals & more. Karen has an extensive and long-running history of volunteerism. She is an Honourary Board Member at Project SHARE of Niagara Falls, and presently sits on the Niagara Homelessness Committee as a Member.
